How are my records kept confidential?
All licensed home care agencies are governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which mandates, among other things, that certain privacy practices be stricly followed.
What is home health care?
Home health care is the treatment of patients by skilled medical professionals (APNs, PTs, OTs, STs, MSWs) within the home as directed by a physician’s plan of care.

Yes. A patient can leave the home for a doctor’s appointment.

Does Optimal Care Inc. provide 24 hour care if needed?
No. This would be considered “shift” nursing. Most vists by our skilled professionals are one to two hours in length and occur several times during the week, as specified by the plan of care. We would recommend another agency for this type of daily care.
What medical qualifications are Optimal Care Inc. required to have?
All medical staff are licensed professionals in their fields. In most cases this means a bachelor’s or masters degree in the field of study and licensing or certification by the state. They have many years of experience in the care of patients in their own home.
What is the role of the patient’s caregiver?
The skilled professionals of OPTIMAL CARE, INC. are members of the patient’s care team who provide intermittent care during home visits. The patient’s physician, the patient, and the patient’s caregiver are the other members. All team members develop, coordinate, and implement the care plan, but the caregiver is particularly important in maintaining continuity of care.
