As Chief Operations Officer, Coleen Leads Optimal Care’s operational support teams. She focuses on hiring people who have a passion for working with the elderly and creating an environment where team members feel supported and empowered to provide excellent care. She is also working to position the company for the future through adoption of technology that improves the accuracy and efficiency of their work.

Prior to coming to Optimal Care, Coleen spent the majority of her 30-year nursing career in clinical leadership and physician practice management positions. She is especially interested in the senior population and has spent the last 15-plus years working to identify ways to help them remain in their homes where they feel safe and comfortable.

Erik Wilson, DNP RN-BC WCC CPHQ

Director of Nursing and Quality
Co-owner

As the Director of Nursing and Quality, Erik leads Optimal Care’s clinical team. He is responsible for overseeing clinical care and quality outcomes for patients as well as implementation of evidence-based care guidelines in the home setting. Prior to joining Optimal Care in 2011, Erik worked in emergency, psychiatric, and home care nursing.

He holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in nursing from the University of Michigan, where he focused on quality and patient safety outcomes. Erik is a board-certified Nurse Executive-Advanced and holds additional certifications in health care quality (CPHQ), wound care (WCC), and infection control (CIC). He has presented on important health care topics including successful community care transitions, medication management in the home setting, infection prevention and control, and building and evaluating quality assurance and performance improvement programs.

Erik serves on the education committee of the National Association for Home Care and Hospice and holds current memberships with the Michigan Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, the National Association of Healthcare Quality, and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.
